OPEN DIALOGUE TRAINING LEVEL 1

From March to December 2023, a training course to familiarise you with Open Dialogue

Association UP brings basic training in Dialogical Practices and Open Dialogue to France with QUALIOPI certification.

How can a dialogue be so transformative? Why do some questions generate more dialogue than others? How to give voice to the experiences that do not yet have words? How can we develop more horizontal collaborative relationships and create a supportive community for the mentally ill?

Questions like these inspire us to seek more dialogical ways of acting in our clinical practice. With this comes an encounter with the Open Dialogue approach - a model of mental health practice that has been developed, extensively studied and evaluated since the 1980s.

Initially implemented in the Lapland region of Finland, over the last decade it has been adapted and taken to several European countries, as well as the United States, Australia, Japan, and Latin American countries. Open Dialogue proposes a mode of practice in which decisions about treatment are built collectively in meetings. The idea is to have all the conversations and decisions openly in the presence of the clients in need for help including the members of the family and other relevant social network, and the professionals involved. The meetings are scheduled as soon as the team is contacted and, through reflective conversations, we seek to establish a dialogue among all, in which flexibility, polyphony, psychological continuity, co-responsibility, and tolerance to uncertainty are some of the values and principles for its realization.

We invite you to a training that was thought from the theoretical and clinical experience of the trainers and assistants, and is being promoted and coordinated by Associação UP, with Qualiopi certification. The modules will consist of theoretical-practical articulation, group dynamics, and reflective exercises.

Through collaborative learning, this training aims to broaden possibilities for a more dialogical therapeutic practice in mental health and to build a reflective space in which it is expected that the philosophy of Open Dialogue will be experienced among the participants and that they can, afterwards, develop it in the places where they work.

The 192-hour program will take place mostly face-to-face, with some meetings also online.

Subscriptions deadline: 18th December 2022
